Using these Makita batteries is easy. First, make sure your tool is a Star Protection tool, which you can identify by the Star Symbol™ and/or a Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool. Then, simply slide the battery onto the tool until it clicks into place. When it's time to charge, use the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately). You'll notice the LED charge level indicator on the battery, which helps you know how much charge is left. Be aware that these batteries are only for Star Protection tools, so don't try to use them with other types of tools. For maintenance, store the batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures, as this can affect their performance. Also, don't overcharge or over-discharge the batteries, as the Star Protection Computer Controls™ are there to protect against these issues, but it's still good to be careful. If you're not going to use the batteries for a long time, it's a good idea to charge them to about 50% and then store them.
