Using the Makita BL1021BDC1 starter pack is easy. First, take the 12V max CXT™ Lithium - Ion 2.0Ah battery out of the pack. Insert it into your 12V max CXT™ bare tool. You can check the battery charge level using the on - board L.E.D. indicator. When the battery is low, put it into the charger (DC10WD). The charger will communicate with the battery's built - in chip to charge it properly. You can see the charging status lights to know how long it'll take to charge. The charger can be wall - mounted to save space. As for maintenance, keep the battery and charger in a dry place. Don't expose them to extreme temperatures. If you're not using the battery for a long time, it's a good idea to charge it every few months to prevent self - discharge. Remember, this product comes with a 3 - year limited warranty, so if you have any problems, contact Makita support.
