Product Detail

The Gardner Bender KC3540 Knockout Converter is a great tool when you need to make larger punch sizes ranging from 3.5 to 6 inches. It's designed to work with the GB KOH14A Slug-Out Hydraulic Knockout Set and fits most 3.5-inch punch and die sets. This converter gets rid of the need for spacers and helps to center the hole accurately. To use it, thread the KC3540 converter into the punch from the inside until it's seated. Make sure the die counter bore is positioned over the boss coming out of the port end of the cylinder. Before using, you need to drill a 1.5-inch diameter or larger guide hole (you can use a 1-1/2-inch punch and die). It's crucial to install the converter inside the punch because installing it outside can damage the pull rod. Once you've put the pull rod into the guide hole, install the punch on the pull rod and turn it until the converter is in the guide hole. The package includes one converter. Key features are its compatibility with 3-1/2 to 6-inch punches and dies, no need for spacers, hole centering ability, and the requirement of a 1.5-inch guide hole.

Using the Gardner Bender KC3540 Knockout Converter is quite easy. First, you'll need to drill a 1.5-inch diameter or larger guide hole in the material using a 1-1/2-inch punch and die. Then, take the converter and thread it into the punch from the inside until it's properly seated. Make sure the die counter bore lines up with the boss on the cylinder's port end. Next, insert the pull rod into the guide hole. After that, put the punch on the pull rod and turn it until the converter is in the guide hole. When using the converter, always remember to install it on the inside of the punch. Installing it on the outside can damage the pull rod. As for maintenance, after each use, clean the converter with a dry cloth to remove any debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, it's best to replace the converter to ensure safe and efficient operation.
