Using your Makita GCU01M1 chain saw is a breeze. First, make sure the battery is fully charged. Then, simply load the 40V XGT® battery into the saw and turn it on. When starting to cut, use the variable speed trigger to control the cutting speed according to your needs. You can adjust the automatic chain lubrication to keep the chain running smoothly. Always be careful when handling the saw. Before starting, check that the lock - off lever is in the correct position to prevent the chain from accidentally starting. Wear appropriate safety gear like gloves and goggles. When it comes to maintenance, there's not much to do compared to gas saws. You don't need to change engine oil, replace spark plugs, or clean air filters. But you should regularly check the chain tension and the oil level in the large oil reservoir. Use the view window on the oil filling port to easily check the oil level and add more when needed. Store the saw in a dry place and keep the battery charged. If you're not using the saw for a long time, make sure to remove the battery to avoid over - discharge.
