Using the Makita GCU06T1 chain saw is a breeze. First, make sure the battery is fully charged using the included 40V max XGT® Rapid Optimum Charger. Insert the charged battery into the saw. Before starting, check the oil level in the large oil reservoir through the view window on the oil filling port. If it's low, add bar oil. To start the saw, press the L.E.D. on/off switch. Use the variable - speed trigger to control the cutting speed according to your needs. When cutting, hold the saw firmly with the rubberized soft - grip top handle to apply even pressure. After use, turn off the saw using the on/off switch. Let the saw cool down before storing it. For maintenance, regularly check the chain tension and adjust it using the tool - free chain adjustment feature. Also, clean the saw to remove any dust or debris. The XGT® system is designed to protect against overload, over - discharge, and overheating, but still handle the saw with care. Avoid using it in extremely wet or dusty conditions, although it has good dust and water resistance with XPT™ technology. Keep the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. If you have any problems, refer to the user manual or contact Makita customer service.
