The Makita GPH01Z 40V max XGT® Brushless Cordless 1/2" Hammer Driver Drill (tool only) is a game-changer for tough drilling and driving jobs in wood, masonry, and metal. In hammer-drill mode, it uses a percussive motion to drill holes in concrete or masonry with ease. Powered by a Makita-built brushless motor, it offers a whopping 1,250 in.lbs. of Max Torque, outperforming other driver drills in heavy-load situations. It drills up to 35% faster than Makita’s 18V LXT Cordless 1/2" Hammer Driver Drill (XPH07), with two speed settings (0 - 650 and 0 - 2,600 RPM and 0 - 9,750 and 0 - 39,000 BPM). An ultra-smooth variable speed trigger gives you perfect control. The electronic digital clutch precisely targets the desired torque range (41 settings in low speed, 21 settings in high speed). The Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) shuts off the motor if the accessory's rotation suddenly stops. With Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™), this workhorse tool is more resistant to dust and water in harsh job sites. A reinforced gear housing and all-metal chuck add extra durability. XGT is a comprehensive system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers using 40v max lithium-ion batteries. It's designed to deliver high power for high-demand jobs, enabling a complete transition to a cordless job site. XGT features advanced brushless motor engineering, intelligent digital communication, and superior durability to outperform, outsmart, and outlast the competition. The digital communication in XGT® optimizes performance, providing up to 2X longer sustained power under heavy loads and actively monitors and protects against overload, over-discharge, and overheating. XGT® Tools and Batteries have a multi-layer contact interface for consistent power delivery, and the XGT® Batteries have rigid rails for secure attachment during high-demand tasks (batteries not included). The XGT® Rapid Charger with a dual-fan design cools the battery and circuit board quickly for faster charging (charger not included), and its digital display shows the battery charge level. The built-in chip in the charger controls current, voltage, and temperature for efficient charging. It's compatible with Makita® 40V max XGT® Lithium-Ion Batteries.

Using the Makita GPH01Z is straightforward. First, make sure you have a compatible Makita® 40V max XGT® Lithium - Ion Battery (not included). Insert the battery into the tool until it clicks into place. Select the appropriate speed setting based on your task. For slower, more precise work, use the lower speed (0 - 650 RPM and 0 - 9,750 BPM), and for faster drilling, switch to the higher speed (0 - 2,600 RPM and 0 - 39,000 BPM). If you're drilling in concrete or masonry, switch to the hammer - drill mode. Squeeze the ultra - smooth variable speed trigger to start the drill, and adjust the pressure to control the speed. When using the electronic digital clutch, set the desired torque level according to the task, with 41 settings in low speed and 21 in high speed. Remember, if the accessory's rotation suddenly stops, the Active Feedback - sensing Technology (AFT®) will turn off the motor to protect you and the tool. As for maintenance, keep the tool clean. After each use, wipe it down with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Check the chuck regularly and make sure it's tight and in good condition. If you notice any issues with the battery, like it not charging properly or not holding a charge, it might be time to replace it. Also, store the tool in a dry place to prevent damage from moisture. When charging the battery with the XGT® Rapid Charger (not included), make sure the charger is plugged into a proper power source. The digital display on the charger will show you the battery's charge level. And that's all you need to know to get the most out of your Makita GPH01Z.
