Using the Makita GAG01M1 is easy. First, make sure the battery is fully charged and insert it into the grinder. Hold the grinder firmly with the side handle and use the slide switch to turn it on. You can lock the switch on for continuous operation. When you're done, the electric brake will stop the wheel in 2 seconds or less. For different cutting and grinding tasks, you can adjust the wheel guard easily without tools. Just rotate it to the position you need. Here are some important notes. Don't use the grinder in wet conditions unless it's really necessary. If you do, the XPT™ technology will help protect it, but it's still better to avoid water as much as possible. Always wear safety goggles and gloves when operating the grinder. And remember, if the wheel gets stuck, the AFT® technology will turn off the motor to protect you. As for maintenance, keep the wire mesh intake covers clean to prevent debris from entering the motor. After each use, wipe the grinder down with a dry cloth. Check the battery regularly and charge it when needed. Store the grinder in a dry and cool place, and use the tool bag provided to keep it safe and organized.
