Product Detail

Using the DeWalt DW618B3 router kit is easy. First, pick the base that suits your project - the plunge base is great for making holes or recesses, the D - handle base gives you good control for free - hand routing, and the mixed base can be used in different situations. Attach the motor pack to the chosen base using the quick - release latches. Then, insert your bit into the collet. You can use either the 1/4 - inch or 1/2 - inch collets depending on the bit size. Use the spindle lock to hold the bit in place while tightening it with the wrench. Adjust the depth of the bit using the micro - fine depth adjustment ring. It lets you make very precise adjustments. Before you start routing, make sure to connect the vacuum adapter to keep the work area clean. You can use the adjustable turret stop for repeated cuts. Just set it to the desired position. When you're ready, turn on the router using the trigger switch on the D - handle. You can lock it on if you're doing a long routing job. For safety, always wear safety glasses and ear protection. Keep your hands away from the spinning bit. Don't force the router through the wood; let the motor do the work. After using the router, turn it off and unplug it. Clean the dust collection system regularly to keep it working well. Check the collets for any debris and clean them if needed. Wipe down the base and motor housing with a clean cloth. If you're not going to use the router for a while, store it in the heavy - duty kit box in a dry place.
