Using this Makita pole saw kit is a breeze. First, charge the 40V max XGT® 4.0Ah battery using the rapid charger. Once charged, attach the battery to the pole saw. Adjust the telescoping shaft to the desired length - you can go from 9 feet to 13 feet easily to reach those high branches. When you're ready to start cutting, make sure the chain is properly tensioned using the lateral chain tensioner. Remember to keep the bar oil tank filled. You can easily see the oil level through the translucent tank and refill it through the large opening. While using the pole saw, if the rotation of the chain suddenly stops, the Active Feedback - Sensing Technology (AFT®) will turn off the motor to protect you. After you're done using the pole saw, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Clean the chain and guide bar regularly to keep them in good condition. Check the chain tension before each use. If you're using the free vacuum, attach the dust bag and turn it on. It has 4 speed settings, so you can choose the one that suits your cleaning needs.
